About Us... Our Community's Commission
When they had finished breakfast. Jesus said to Simon Peter. "Simon, Son of John, do you love me more than these?" He said to him. "Yes, Lord, you know that I love you." Jesus said to him. "Feed my lambs." Today, Jesus is asking us the same question; "Do you love me? Then, feed my sheep." We have a proven way that we can respond to Jesus in our community. We have many people in Enid and Garfield County who are hungry, who need the life giving sustenance of a good meal each day. When you are donating food items or collecting items through one of our food drives, you are actively responding to Jesus' commission to feed God's sheep where we live. Your gift is passed on to one of the twenty sites that either serve meals or distribute food boxes. The question for each of us is simple enough. Do we love Jesus? Then what will we do this week to "Feed His sheep?"
Mission Statement The Horn of Plenty is a charitable organization of volunteers dedicated to collecting, warehousing, and distributing nonperishable food items to Horn of Plenty approved local churches and nonprofit agencies that have assumed the challenge of feeding the hungry throughout Garfield County, OK.
